Intermediate/Advanced level: In this class, we shall work with flow and speed, all through exploring the dynamics of the body, its finer qualities of movement and the three-dimensional use of our available space. We will try ways in which the body transfigures itself and the space, it succumbs to or escapes gravity, changes speeds and dynamics, and how it relates to other bodies. Our goal is of the personal evolvement of each person’s practice of contemporary dance to enhance the evolvement of the team as well.

This class is aimed at people with previous experience at contemporary dance and it is composed of intense strength training, structured exercises, choreography and improvisation instructions.

Katerina Gevetzi is a dancer, an honours graduate of the Higher Private Professional Dance School “NIKI KONTAXAKI” and of the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance . She also has a degree of Classical Studies from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Based in Vienna until 2015, she worked for two years with the teams Flowmotion Dance Company and Transitheart Productions, as well as with the Berlin National Opera, with Phillip Stölzl as the director and Mara Kurotschka as the choreographer. In Greece, she has collaborated with Maria Koliopoulou, Mariela Nestora, Sania Stribakou, Antigone Gyra, Athanassia Kanellopoulou, Kosmas Kosmopoulos, Ermira Goro, Will Dorner, amongst others. She has participated in festivals, such as the Athens and Epidaurus festival, “All of Greece, One Culture”, MIR Festival, ARC For Dance, Music in Motion, as well as in festivals of Onassis Cultural Center(Fast Forward Festival, Dancing Athens, I Dance Festival), of Michael Cacoyannis Foundation (Greek Choreographers Festival), of Biennale and of the Municipality of Athens. She teaches contemporary dance in various schools and studios in Athens and she participates in educational artistic programs, such us the Co-OPERAtive program of the Educational and Social Action of the Greek National Opera. She is involved with conclusive dancing, in collaboration with the organization Artogether (Art for people with or without disabilities), where she organizes workshops and with Kinetic Improvisation Team, where she choreographs. In the past few years she has also been working in the field of theater as a choreographer. She has worked with directors, such as Argyris Ksafis, Kostas Papakonstantinou, Sophia Karagianni, Thanassis Megalopoulos, Roubini Moschoriti and Foivos Symeonidis among others.
